Introducing Project 52

Project 52It’s my birthday week and i’ve been thinking of the things I want to achieve as I add another year to my life. This is the first time i’ve actively thought about it as a process of personal growth and development. I’m on a mission to grow, learn and stretch myself as much as I possibly can in the coming year. I don’t know what the year holds, but I know that I can take certain actions to help with my personal growth. As I continue to take consistent action towards my personal growth and development, something great will come out of it. I want to be intentional about finding my acquired taste, that ‘je ne sais quoi’ that is unique to me, like a finger print.

I came up with the idea of Project 52 after I stumbled on the blog Fifty Coffees. I must say that i’m glad I found the blog as it has inspired this project that I plan to work on every week for the next 52 weeks. There’s nothing new about my project. It has been done countless times by different people, and it has been called different things. I’ve chosen to call it Project 52 as it fits in perfectly with my birthday year. It’ll serve as a way for me keep track of my adventures in the new year, and also keep me accountable. It’s a project that I will be sharing with you all; and hopefully, we can all grow together during the next 52 weeks.

So, what is Project 52?

Every week from May this year until May 2017, I will do something that will expand my horizon. It could be as simple as trying a new skill, visiting a new place, having in-depth conversations with people over coffee, putting into practice something i’ve learnt from a book…etc. The list is endless. The main aim of this project is to discipline myself. This is in line with my mantra for 2016 which is to ‘be present in love and devotion‘.

I hope that you’ll join me on this adventure over the next 52 weeks.

Great decision…..even keeping the blogging going. Just have your KPIs to hold yourself accountable.
