20 Options To Spoil Yourself

Vals Day CollageAre you still fantasizing over a possible Valentine’s Day gift? As we get closer to February 14, I can hear people whispering amongst themselves about what they want as a gift. There are others who are trying to drop subtle (and not-so-subtle) hints as to what they want. There’s also the other group of people, the ones sulking because they are not in a position to receive a gift for whatever reason (use your imagination). I’m not about that life and I don’t subscribe to the sulking based on whatever situation. I have always been one for giving myself gifts because as L’Oreal likes to remind me, I’M WORTH IT! Yes, you read that right! I love myself so much that I want to hug myself, give myself kisses and buy myself pretty gifts. I’ve never received a Valentine’s gift from anyone ever (at least not that I’m aware of). But I’ve always given myself something to remind me of how extra special my relationship with myself is. You can interpret this as being cocky or corny, I like to see it as one of the ways I can show myself philautia love. So, I want to invite you, ladies and gentlemen, to join me in spoiling yourself. Whether you are in a relationship or not, spoil yourself with a gift that you would appreciate AND is within your budget. If you have no idea of what to give yourself, I’ve got some ideas below that can apply to both the ladies and gentlemen

  • A massage or facial at a spa
  • A bath at home with some bath bombs that make you feel relaxed and special. I suggest you turn off your mobile and truly enjoy this moment
  • A gift box from Heart in Box
  • A bouquet of flowers (I plan on getting one for myself to freshen up my room)
  • Something off your wishlist that you’ve been coveting for a while
  • A fancy home cooked meal or a decadent meal from your favourite restaurant
  • A new set of earphones
  • A few hours spent alone in peace and quiet if you’re always surrounded by people
  • Gold class tickets to your favourite movie (I’m a huge fan of watching movies in the cinema alone)
  • A new set of pajamas
  • A box of heart-shaped chocolates
  • Scented candles
  • Workout gear
  • Cupcakes
  • Wallet
  • Wristwatch
  • Perfume
  • A bottle of champagne
  • Tick something off your bucket list
  • Take a new class – for example dance, painting, writing

As you can see, the possibilities are endless. You just need to figure out what gift will be meaningful to you at this very moment in time. So go on, treat yourself! You deserve it
